In 2015 Audi has brought on Indian roads three new supercars – Audi R8 LMX, the new Audi TT Coupé and the new Audi RS 7 Sportback – and now it has launched its fourth supercar for 2015: the Audi RS 6 Avant. Unveiled by Joe King, Head, Audi India and Indian Cricketer and a friend of Audi, Virat Kohli, it is the first sportscar with an Avant body style featuring sharp lines and taut surfaces.

“Groundbreaking performance and supreme dynamism combined with excellent suitability for everyday use are the impressive features of the Audi RS 6 Avant. Embodying our philosophy of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, the Audi RS 6 Avant is the first sportscar in India with an Avant body style. Having set the trend of many firsts with the launch of the first compact luxury sedan in India – the Audi A3, first compact luxury open top convertible – the Audi A3 Cabriolet, India’s first production car with laser high beam lighting – the limited edition Audi R8 LMX and the introduction of the Matrix LED headlights with the Audi A8 L, we believe it’s about time to introduce the Avant to luxury connoisseurs in the country. With its low, flowing roofline, the Audi RS 6 Avant is a sure head turner from every angle. We are confident that the elegant dynamics of the car will appeal to auto enthusiasts seeking style, speed and luxury,” said Joe King.

The Audi RS 6 Avant is powered by the 4.0 TFSI® twin-turbo V8 engine, which displaces 3,993 cc and develops an awesome power of 560 hp. The Audi RS 6 Avant can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 305 km/h with the optional Dynamic Package Plus.

Audi Cylinder on Demand (COD) technology ensures dynamic performance combined with low fuel consumption and emissions. The RS adaptive air suspension combine air suspension with a continuously variable damper system. Since it is linked into the Audi Drive Select feature, it is possible to customise the suspension across a range of characteristics. The four modes offered via MMI® are Auto, Comfort, Dynamic as well as Individual.

The Audi RS 6 Avant’s design is sporty as well as elegant with sharp lines that frame taut surfaces and a roofline that slowly slopes downwards at the back, giving the car a slight SUV-like look. The single-frame grille at the front gives the car a wider stance.  Its tail lamps are entirely LED, and rear dynamic turn signals are standard in combination with the Matrix LED headlights.

The Avant is as elegant from the inside as it is on the outside. An arched horizontal line seems to wrap-around beneath the windshield. The cockpit is tailored to the driver and the centre console is oriented in the driver’s direction.

A buyer can choose between nine standard colours and one Matt finish colour. With Audi Exclusive, one can choose between innumerable colours and customisation options.

The Audi RS 6 Avant is priced at INR 1,35,00,750 (ex-showroom New Delhi and Mumbai). It is available at all Audi dealerships across India.
