Now enjoy the sun and the sea in Benetti’s 50 metre long FB801 M/Y VICA made using two different techniques.
One of the oldest luxury shipyards in the world, Benetti is considered the world leader in building custom mega yachts. The latest vessel from Benetti is the 50 metre long FB801 M/Y VICA, which is the first from the shipyard to be built using two different techniques – the hull is in fibre glass while its superstructure is in aluminium. Designed to fall under 500 gross tons, its concept of flexible moulding aims to meet the client’s various customisation requirements.
While aboard the VICA, people will be able to enjoy the sea and the sun to the fullest. Not only does the yacht have ample open air spaces – a spacious open deck astern, and forward with the upper deck and an enormous sun deck – but full height windows even allow for plenty of sunlight to fill the interiors.
A feature unique to the VICA is that there are three hatches in its hull. The first is laterally placed towards the stern for launching and recovering the tender; the second serves as a bathing platform; the third opens into the lower deck lobby allowing air and light to enter in an otherwise closed area. Another exclusive feature for a vessel of this size is an automatic gangway down to sea level, for the convenience of the owner.
The four decks on VICA are connected by a central staircase, which opens onto tastefully appointed lobbies. Besides the four decks there is also an under lower deck which houses the engine room, service area, holds, and laundry.
The internal layout of VICA is classic, with four guest cabins on the lower deck, the owner’s suite forward on the main deck, and an additional cabin on the upper deck. The interiors are designed by Benetti, with guidance of the architect Mariarosa Remedi and in collaboration with the owner’s personal interior designer.
Benetti has tried to create a homely ambiance across the ship. The warm and classic interiors extensively feature cherrywood, both smooth and satin finished (for the cabins), with detailing in rosewood. Lighting is completely supplied by LED, and the interior illuminated alabaster columns have dynamic light temperature controls via iPad.
Technically, VICA maintains her classic configuration, with a fibre glass displacement hull propelled by two CAT C32 Acert that develop 970 kW each and ensure adequate performance for her 498 gross tons. She has a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. VICA can achieve her top speed of 15.5 knots or cruise at 14 knots with her engines working at 85% of their maximum load. Benetti guarantees the M/Y VICA offers a comfortable hull ride, practically without any vibrations and noise.
