A lot of renowned brands from the jewellery industry feature among the collection, like Cartier, Schlumberger, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
“Aside from their rare beauty, many of these jewels bare a compelling history of their own. To me they embody wonderful and loving personal memories as well as exciting chapters of my life, full of colour, travel and encounters,” shared Princess Gabriela.
Here’s a look at some of the auction’s highlights:
The Pohl Diamond: 36 carat D colour Pohl Diamond is the highlight of the entire collection. One of the first major diamonds to be polished in India, it was mined in 1934 as a 287 carat rough stone and was owned since 1943 by the Chrysler family. It was added to the Princess‘ collection in 1998 and is offered at an estimated value of US$38,00,000-55,00,000.
The Colombian Emerald and Diamond Necklace: The Princess has been photographed wearing the sensational Emerald and Diamond Necklace from Cartier on many occasions. It boasts a richly coloured Colombian emerald of almost 40 carats and is priced at US$25,00,000-35,00,000.
The Burmese Sapphire and Diamond Necklace & Ear Pendants: Another magnificent jewellery item from Cartier, the set is adorned with rare Burmese sapphires. The V-shaped necklace boasts a 55 carat cushion-shaped Sapphire (US$20,00,000-30,00,000) and is accompanied by diamond-star topped and pear shaped ear pendants, with a total weight approximating towards 50 carats (US$600,000-800,000).
The Cultured Pearl and Diamond Fringe Necklace: This elegant necklace belonged to H.H. Begum Om Habibeh Aga Khan (1906-2000), the wife of H.H. Sultan Mohammed Shah, Aga Khan III. A pair of ear pendants was specially designed by Van Cleef & Arpels after this timeless pearl and diamond necklace made its way to the Princess in order to wear them as a perfect parure. The estimated price of this necklace is around US$2,00,000-3,00,000.
