BMW completes 100 years of being in business this year. The BMW AG group has launched celebrations on several fronts running under a forward-looking motto: THE NEXT 100 YEARS.
Festivals to celebrate the milestone
The company has launched a programme of events that will travel across the world with the BMW Festival. The BMW Museum in Munich will celebrate the centenary in style as they exhibit “100 masterpieces by BMW – 100 years of innovative strength and entrepreneurial courage.” The exhibition is expected to run until September 2017, providing exciting and interesting insights on the most important vehicles in the past, some of the most successive motor sport stories, and brave company decision taken by BMW at crucial times.
Exhibition at the BMW Museum in Munich
The main event which will be held at the Munich Olympic Park is expecting thousands of guests from all over the world. This exhibition will be open to public from 9th to 11th September, 2016, and will cover an area of 1,10,000 square meters. Visitors will have the chance of a lifetime to enjoy and experience the BMW brand, its past and the future. In the nights this area will be the venue of The BMW Festival Night, where some of the most legendary cars and motorcycles produced by the German luxury brand will be presented.
The Centenary package
To celebrate 100 years in the business, BMW has launched a centenary package featuring their current most futuristic features as a glimpse of the future of innovation and technology in the automotive industry. BMW’s German showrooms are giving a taste of this future to their customers by offering them this package in all BMW 1 series, 2 series, 3 series and 4 series models along with BMW X3 and X4 and a couple of new pug-in hybrid models.
Centennial Models
The centennial models from the luxury sedan department, “BMW Individual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS” are designed by BMW Individual and limited to 100 units. They feature three fascinatingly exclusive drive variants with intelligent all-wheel drive.

Combining the inventions, competence and dynamics of the premium sedan with exclusively brilliant design and equipment from BMW Individual, the brand has created iconic cars to give drivers a taste of the future. 20-inch light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with two colour variants, design lines enhanced with fine grain Merino leather, a Montblanc fountain pen designed in the same colour as the car, are all offered in the anniversary edition. Its exclusive, hand-made signet bearing the letters “THE NEXT 100 YEARS” are an ode to the legendary manufacturing process of BMW.
Through all of its 100th year celebrations, the company is highlighting the brand’s ideals of uncompromising quality standards, history conscious design lines, and handcrafted excellence. Having stayed true to these ideals since the past 100 years, BMW sure seem poised to allow these core beliefs to steer the brand in the coming century as well.
