Bentley has released the all-new Continental GT Speed and revved up its style and sportiness with a striking Black Edition.
Bentley recently unveiled the improved Continental GT Speed producing their fastest production Bentley ever with a top speed of 331 km/h (206 mph). This latest design from Bentley is a massive upgrade in terms of superiority and performance with even more power and torque than the last model, and a bold new Black edition is also set to join the Speed family. Engineers have added even more muscle to the monstrous 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine. The new GT Speed now produces 642 PS and a massive torque of 840 Nm, which is produced via ideal re-optimization of boost control, enhancing the Grand Tourer’s well-known “torque plateau”. The new GT Speed can go from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds).
Bentley has also launched the Continental GT Speed Black Edition as an ode to GT’s sporting character and it is being manufactured in both coupe and convertible body designs. A high-gloss finish is applied to the exterior bright ware along with all-black 21” five-spoke directional wheels, with an option of two colour variants for the brake callipers: black or red.
The Black Edition comes packed with vibrant contrasting colours such as Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and Cyber Yellow on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, to create an elegant eye-catching car aesthetic. Customers also have the option of colour-matching the door mirror to add the final striking twist to the exterior of the car. The interiors are decorated with the combination of dark hues and vibrant highlights. Centre and roof consoles, along with the fascia are created with carbon fibres to enhance the warm and luxrious setting. The customers have an option of four contrasting leather colour variants to choose from for their seats; Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red or new Cyber Yellow.
It takes the engineers close to 110 hours to handcraft a single Continental GT at the Bentley production plant in Crewe, Cheshire. The upgraded W12 engine itself takes close to 12½ hours until it is entirely assembled and requires 30 employees working side-by-side. The exclusively designed interiors are handcrafted by experienced artisans in Bentley’s Leather and Trim workshop. The craftsmanship of the artisans is on display as they carefully inspect each piece of hide by hand and eye before stitching, shaping and adding final touches by hand.
With customer deliveries set to begin in the summer, the Continental GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition are now available to order. For more information visit bentleymotors.com
