When you own four of the world’s top watchmaking brands, an annual event dedicated exclusively to them is absolutely required! Held at the Bvlgari Resort Dubai from 13th to 15th January, 2020, the first-ever LVMH Watch Week saw latest chronographs as well as iconic models from LVMH brands Bvlgari, TAG Heuer, Hublot and Zenith.

Zenith stepped up its offering for ladies by presenting many models dedicated entirely to them. Among them was DEFY Midnight, the first purely feminine watch by the Maison. The sporty-chic wristwatch features a 36mm stainless steel case decorated with diamonds. Its celestial dial embodies the brand’s philosophy of ‘Time to reach your star.’

“I’m very proud that Zenith is in Dubai for the first edition of LVMH Watch Week – Dubai 2020. Both glamorous and forward thinking, Dubai is the perfect place to present an innovative collection of feminine watches. We are placing women’s watches at the forefront of the brand’s creative endeavors. But we weren’t content with making yet another ladies’ watch. Our newest models mark the first time that Zenith has conceived women’s watches from the ground up,” said Julien Tornare, Chief Executive Officer of Zenith.

Zenith also announced its partnership with DJ and producer Carl Cox. The techno music artist has inspired Zenith’s DEFY 21 Carl Cox for men. A futuristic timepiece, it features a carbon fibre bezel and a glow-in-the-dark strap stitching. The dial has a rotating disc, a la a vinyl record, which serves as its running seconds indicator.

Bvlgari at LVMH Watch Week

Famous for its jewellery watches, Bvlgari introduced some more exquisite timepieces at the first-ever LVMH Watch Week. This included the bejewelled Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon in the design of a serpent’s head and fitted with the smallest tourbillion for women in the market. While this watch is the latest incarnation of Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti model, the brand also introduced new models of its Diva’s Dream collection. For men, Bvlgari unveiled its Octo Finissimo in new finishes.

Hublot carried forward its Art of Fusion concept at the first-ever LVMH Watch Week, and displayed the latest Big Bang Unico, Spirit of Big Bang Meca-10 and Big Bang MP-11 Red Magic.

Hublot strives to push boundaries with the Art of Fusion, its unique approach to watchmaking. In 2005 it introduced the Big Bang watch that was a fusion of steel, ceramic and rubber. To mark the 15th anniversary of its innovation, Hublot has unveiled the Big Bang Unico, in which they have not only used ceramic but also achieved the fusion of a metal bracelet with the case.

Transparent dials that showcase mechanical movements are another forte of Hublot and its latest Spirit of Big Bang Meca-10 combines the round Meca-10 caliber and the barrel design of the Spirit of Big Bang.

Meanwhile the Big Bang MP-11 Red Magic is another example of Hublot’s vibrant high-tech ceramic that it pioneered in 2018. Its manufacture movement, visible from the dial, allows a power reserve of 14 days.

160th Year of Tag Heuer

Tag Heuer is saving its new launches for Baselworld, and only showcased the TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition, which celebrates 160th year of the brand. A limited edition of only 1,860 pieces, it will be available for sale from June 2020. The timepiece is powered by the Heuer 02, which has 168 components and offers a power reserve of 80 hours.
