The internationally renowned boutique cake store, Lady M, is celebrating the opening of a second Hong Kong store with a signature treat that can only be experienced in Asia’s World City.

Lady M first opened in New York and gathered a following of celebrities as it expanded into Los Angeles and Singapore. Hong Kong was next and celebrities and general public alike have been flocking to the store in Harbor City, making owners Stephen Yeung and Tammy Wu launch a second boutique in Central’s IFC Mall within a few months after opening their first outlet.
“I’m very thankful for all the support that Lady M has received from our customers,” said Wu. “We hope our new branch at IFC can further spread the quality and work that goes into every cake at Lady M to satisfy fans of a truly world-class tradition.”
Lady M has a reputation for excellence and a commitment to the ‘beauty of simplicity’. Ingredients and production standards are top notch, as demanded by the French traditions and Japanese techniques that Lady M employs. The new IFC branch is set to serve a signature range of takeout cakes both for orders and the soon to be offered guest seating.
As an added bonus, Yeung and Wu have come up with a new original creation that can only be experienced at the Hong Kong locations. Their Mille Crêpes are renowned for their velvety texture and rich flavour. Twenty layers of paper-thin crêpes are stacked with freshly whipped cream for each pastry creation. The Earl Grey Mille Crêpes will feature French earl grey tea leaf-infused pastry cream. The indulgent crêpe will be topped off with a tea glaze, homemade earl grey sprinkles, and edible blue cornflowers.
Checkers cake
Lady M has also released a crown jewel from its New York collection specifically for the IFC store. For a limited time, the Checkers Cake is being offered at the new Hong Kong location. A bestseller in New York, the Checkers Cake is an irresistible combination of vanilla and chocolate sponge cake woven into a delicate checkered pattern. It’s held together by rich, dark chocolate ganache and light, freshly whipped cream. Checkers Cakes have been in high demand since first being offered in 2004 and it one of the brand’s most popular cakes for families.
