Bathed in trippy psychedelic vibes, W Goa has opened its doors on Vagator Beach.

WOW Villa at W Goa

The 50th property of W Hotels Worldwide has opened on Indian shores, more specifically by the Vagator Beach in Goa! W Goa is the first outpost of this chain in our country and is located between lush jungles and the picturesque coastline of Vagator Beach. A 90-minute drive from Goa International Airport, W Goa is spread across 25 acres and has 160 guestrooms, including villas, chalets, a Marvelous Suit and an Extreme WOW Villa – the W equivalent of a Presidential Suite.

W Goa retains the lively and spirited design seen throughout W Hotels, achieved here by interior design house Design Wilkes and architects Eco-ID. On arrival one is welcomed by the grand open-unframed doors adorned with Goan artist Subodh Kerkar’s painting of lunar phases, a subtle reminder of the full-moon party culture of the state. Another art piece greets the eye behind the reception pods – an enormous street art mural by M. Narayan, celebrating the cultural diversity of Goa.

The décor too is inspired by the vibrant cultures and people of Goa, with rich colours and fabrics running through the hotel. Rooms also have a psychedelic feel, with trippy hues of purple and blue. The fixtures are quite trippy with foggy metal closet drawers, ‘beaten’ metal drawers where all are designed so guests cannot see themselves clearly and only catch shape and movements. The chandeliers too look as though they are in the process of melting! A Bodhi leaf, the symbol of enlightenment, adorns every bathroom mirror.

Spa by Clarins

The 14,000 sq. ft. Spa by Clarins at W Goa is inspired by the great baths of Pompeii! A labyrinth of corridors lead to eight treatment rooms, an Oxygen room, a heated vitality pool, sauna and  a steam room. There’s also an outdoor WET pool deck and a FIT gym.

The brand’s Whatever/Whenever service ensures that every whim and fancy of the guests are catered to. They also share with guests the inside scoop on what’s latest in Goa.

Food and Entertainment

Like any luxe hotel, W Goa too has its own bouquet of restaurants offering guests a wide variety of cuisines to enjoy. Spice Traders offers Pan Asian delicacies served in an al fresco setting while The Kitchen Table is an all-day restaurant doling out local classics as well as international favourites with a modern twist. The Living Room and WOOBAR are meant for hanging-out during the day and transform into buzzing lounges by night. The WET deck bar is where guests can binge on guilt-free snacks and boozy cocktails. The tour-de-force however is the Rock Pool, set upon a cliff with the ocean waves crashing below, with pure boho vibes and trancy beats to get Goa partying through the night.
